The Division of Administration is looking for an Intermediate Accountant position within the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) Fiscal Team. This position requires cooperation, good organizational skills, punctuality, attention to detail, frequent interaction with staff and the ability to multitask. We are seeking a positive team player, who is flexible, spontaneous, a quick learner and would have fun working with our team. Normal work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, however, flextime may be available.

What you’ll do:

• Preparing budget reports to present during monthly ELC budget meetings.
• Preparing budget moves/changes for approval.
• Preparing journal voucher requests for approval.
• Providing response for approval to the Division of Administration quarterly expenditure report.
• Tracking contracts and addressing any issues.
• Assisting with fiscal year setup.
• Maintaining spending plans for programs and monitoring available funds.
• Reviewing Federal Financial Report for accuracy.
• Assisting Accountant Supervisor with reviewing, approving, and monitoring of expenditures along with available authority and grant funds each month/pay period.
• Prepare Monthly COVID expenditure report for Department Fiscal Laisions

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Employee will be familiar with the MissouriBUYS and SAM II Financial system including financial purchasing, expenditures, grant management, and the SAM II HR Payroll system.
• Employee should have strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Employee should have the ability to work very independently and handle multiple task with competing deadlines.
• Employee should be familiar with the Grant Life Cycle.
• Employee should be familiar with contracts
