Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking an individual who is both an efficient, and motivated team member to join our Health Information Management department within the facility. The Health Information Technician position is a Certified technical position accountable for assisting in the daily operation of a health information management unit and in maintaining a systematic flow of clinical information to all sections of the facility. This position is responsible for break down, assembly, and final analysis of discharged records and ensuring that discharged records are complete and closed within 30 days of discharge to be in compliance with hospital policy; preparing and distributing the Intellidocs Delinquency list weekly for incomplete documents and monthly for incomplete treatment reviews; processing Intellidocs Modify/Delete forms; maintaining user profiles in Intellidocs; assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses codes to monthly billing sheets, Medical Psychiatric Assessments, and Addendums, demonstrate knowledge of HIPPA guidelines, assist with APS Medical Record Review and complete audits as needed, and will exercise supervision in the absences of the Department Director along with assisting in all areas of the Health Information Management Department as needed. Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate professional demeanor, and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery based environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Health Information Technology accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHT)
