State of Missouri is Hiring an Engineering/Surveying/Field Technician Near Rolla, MO

Annual Salary: $29,327 - $40,884

Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Divison of Missouri Geological Survey and will be located at the Missouri Geological Survey, 111 Fairgrounds Road, in Rolla, MO 65401

Why you’ll love this position: The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Missouri Geological Survey is seeking an Engineer/Survey/Field Technician in the Water Resources Center (WRC) to support field activities of the Groundwater Section. In this position, you’ll be involved in the collection of geologic and hydrologic data used to assess and manage Missouri’s groundwater resources.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor observation well status via website and perform well site visits
  • Ensure dataloggers collect accurate water level data
  • Use of various data collection instrumentation
  • Assist with geological and hydrological investigations and oversight for well reconstruction projects
  • Collaborate with coworkers on the design of groundwater observation well monitoring sites
  • Frequent use of construction tools such as drills, saws, welders, generators, etc

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to travel with possible multiple overnight trips per week
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs and be able to stay on ones feet for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to operate and program data recorders/transmitters
  • Experience with hydrologic sensors and instrumentation
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated
