State of Missouri is Hiring a Director - Project Aware Near Jefferson City, MO

Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the Missouri Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education (AWARE) program, referred to as Project AWARE, established through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
  • Conduct program management, reporting, accountability, and budgeting activities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Project AWARE partners.
  • Provide support services and tools to Local Education Authorities (LEAs) participating in the Project AWARE.
  • Maintain ongoing Project AWARE outreach to Missouri schools, LEAs, and other stakeholders; develop and lead new initiatives as appropriate.
  • Employ the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) framework of promotion, prevention, treatment, and maintenance to develop plans that incorporate evidence-based practices (EBP), leverage expertise of provider organizations, and elevate family and community voice to ensure plans are culturally competent, developmentally appropriate, and reflective of the specific needs of LEAs/communities.
  • Manage contracts with external service providers and program evaluators.
  • Establish and coordinate the activities of an evaluation advisory committee as required by the Project AWARE
  • Establish partnerships to engage health and educational experts to participate in professional development and technical assistance offerings.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in school counseling, mental health, social work or closely related field with concentration, specialization, and/or emphasis in the appropriate content area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in a school or community-based mental health setting.
