State of Missouri is Hiring an Assistant Division Director Eastern and Central Regions Near Jefferson, MO

Assistant Division Director, Division of DD

Salary: $ 105,325

The Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD) is seeking an Assistant Division Director for the Eastern and Central Regions.

  • Eastern Region covers the St. Louis Regional Office which includes 5 offices in St. Louis and the Hannibal Satellite office.
  • The Central Region covers the Central Missouri Regional Office in Columbia and two satellite offices in Kirksville and Rolla as well as the Sikeston Regional office which includes satellite offices in Poplar Bluff and Cape Girardeau.

The successful candidate will meet the qualifications listed below.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote the Department and Division mission, vision, and values in all aspects of operations and service delivery.
  • Provide exemplary leadership to Division employees through promoting a positive work culture, effective communication, and developing employees by setting a positive example, coaching, modeling, and creating opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Oversee operations of the regional offices to ensure consistent implementation and compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Travel to regional and satellite offices routinely to meet directly with staff and receive feedback.
  • Stay abreast of the emerging regional issues and trends statewide.
  • Build and maintain systems to measure performance utilizing data and respond to results using continuous quality improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with individuals, their families and guardians, advocates, stakeholders, community leaders, schools, sister departments and divisions, and other related entities.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all level s in the Division, individuals, their families and guardians. Promote consumer and family involvement in decisions affecting their individual services and providing input on Division decisions related to service delivery.
  • Promote collaboration with other state agencies to ensure an effective and efficient service delivery network.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to promote best practices and opportunities for continuous improvement relevant to operations and service delivery.
  • Assess and participate in problem-solving around issues as they arise.
  • Keep the Deputy Director of Community Operations apprised of relevant operational and service delivery issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and four years of professional relevant experience in mental health, education, social services, public administration or a closely related area. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The position requires excellent leadership and management skills; advanced verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage complex projects; ability to build and maintain strong, positive working relationships, ability to problem solve and resolve complex issues; skill in the analysis and interpretation of information and data to evaluate performance and inform business decisions; and ability to present information in a clear and concise matter.

Requirements:

This position is considered an employee of Central Office but may domicile within a local Regional or Satellite office. Routine travel to Central office and throughout the region is required.
