The accounting Technician is an integral position in the Student Financial Services department which supports the student-facing financial transactions for Normandale Community College. Housed within the division of Student Affairs, the role balances back-office functions with opportunities for student engagement in-person, over the phone, email to help with student account questions, third party processing, payment plan enrollment, and more. Additionally, this role works in close collaboration with co-located departments like Financial Aid and Scholarships, Records and Registration, and the college's Fiscal Services team.
Daily work includes reconciliations, deposit processing, and handling various cash, checks, and EFT transactions in addition to giving advice to students, colleagues and other stakeholders aligned with the policies and procedures of Minnesota State.
A successful Accounting Technician is detail-oriented, provides excellent customer service, enjoys working individually and part of a team while supporting out financial processes and student needs. The position is eligible for up to two days of telework each week and offers many opportunities for personal and professional development.
This position will actively advance the college's strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
