State of Michigan is Hiring a Department Analyst 12 (Policy Rules Analyst) Near Lansing, MI
As the recognized resource, senior level analyst, perform the most complex and sensitive assignments related to the promulgation of administrative rules pursuant to the Michigan Administrative Procedures Act, 1969 PA 306. Specializing in the following rules sets: Carnival-Amusement Safety (R 408.801-408.898), Barrier Free Design Board – General Rules (R 125.1001-125.1026), Land Corner Recordation General Rules (R 54.251-54.253), Manufactured Housing (R 125.1101- 125.3069), Michigan Elevator Rules (R 408.7001-408.8695), Residential Builders and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors (R 338.1511-338.1566), Ski Area Safety – General Rules (R 408.61-480.95), Skilled Trades Regulation Rules (R 339.5101-339.5412), Subdivisions of Land (R 560.101-560.135), Survey and Remonumentation Commission – General Rules (R 54.201-54.213). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparing requests for rule making, hearing notices, and related documents and reports; attending rule committee meetings; providing guidance and support to rule committee members; submitting rules through the legislative process for approval; making recommendations for rules changes when required; oversight of the preparation of administrative rules in the final printed format; negotiate and renew the contract between the International Code Council and the State of Michigan for printing Michigan code books; . The analyst develops and provides training in the rules process for program directors, code officials, and committee members. In addition, the analyst reviews proposed and new legislation affecting bureau programs, create procedures, guidelines and forms related to specialty area, and as a back-up to the bureau’s boards and commissions composes final orders and decisions.
