The main purpose of this position is to serve as the Regional Mental Health Supervisor for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) in the Jessup region. As such the incumbent is responsible for directing coordinating and integrating psychology services within each correctional institution located within the region. This includes the regional Correctional Mental Health Unit (if applicable) located in the region. This involves program development, diagnostic assessment, clinical consultation, and audit functions. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for administrative supervision as well as clinical supervision of the psychologists in the region. Direct and coordinate all psychology activities of the mental health program within the DPSCS region. Liaise with institutional personnel offices in ensuring that: all efforts are being made to fill vacant psychology positions within the region; all Performance Evaluations Plans for regional psychology staff are timely and adequately completed; all position descriptions adequately reflect the duties for positions in the region’s institutions.
