Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Director of Employee Relations and Services. The Director of Employee Relations and Services is located in the Human Resources Division. This is a full-time position. REPORTS TO: Director of Employee Relations and Services

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in business management, with a concentration in Human Resources or related field.
Experience:
5 years of experience investigating employment-related complaints
5 years of experience in Human Resources in a leadership role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High level of integrity, objectivity, discretion, and emotional intelligence
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Ability to handle highly sensitive matters with compassion and equity.
Ability to position oneself with all staff as a credible and trusted partner.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education:
Master's degree in business, Management, with a concentration in Human Resources.
Preferred Experience:
5 years’ experience in Higher Education
One year of Title IX experience
Preferred Certifications:
SHRM-CP or other Human Resources Certification.
The Director of Employee Relations and Services is responsible for implementing and monitoring human resources programs and policies for Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). Focus areas include compliance, performance management, personnel records, and operations. The Director administers and develops human resources programs and policies that support BRCC's strategy and positively engage the workforce. Ensures all documentation and records are accurate, current, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for areas of responsibility. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Employee Relations
Ensures fair resolution of employee relations-related issues, including employee discipline, grievances and conflict resolution, work-life balance, and the EAP program.
Investigates allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and policy violations and implements resolutions, which may include terminating the offending employee. Monitors investigations for trends and recommends resolutions.
Interprets related legislation and ensures compliance with civil service and federal programs and policies.
Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics.
Manages the unemployment services and unemployment hearings.
Deputy Title IX Coordinator
HR Operations
Oversees faculty contract and extra services agreement process.
Provides strategic direction and guidance on implementing, integrating, and managing the HRIS and related systems.
Analyzes and streamlines current operational and system processes to remove inefficiencies, improve data quality, ensure reporting accuracy, and stay current with industry trends to drive innovation within the organization.
Conducts HR department audits to ensure records, processes, and procedures comply with federal, state, civil service, System, and college requirements. Primary contact for state auditors and other government regulatory bodies
Performance Management:
Provides general counsel and direction on the performance management process.
Organizes and ensures the annual performance evaluation program aligns with the College’s employee success strategic pillar.
Partners with HR leadership to develop an employee experience strategy and critical measures to track movement toward the college’s goals.
Supports the Department’s results-driven management through strategic planning, continuous improvement, and performance planning and reporting, including coordination with other evidence to ensure alignment with the college’s strategic plans.
