Position Summary & Responsibilities :

The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) is recruiting for a Program Specialist. The position responsibilities include :

Monitor the State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) email inbox diligently, ensuring timely responses to internal and external requests as directed by the SIDES Lead.

Serve as a reliable backup to the SIDES Lead when necessary.

• Actively participate in the recruitment efforts to onboard employers into the SIDES program, overseeing the application process with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborate with IT to address and resolve SIDES technical issues, daily reports / errors, and employer login credential matters promptly and effectively.
• Gather pertinent information from clients, evaluating their needs and eligibility for various programs and services. Identify and refer eligible clients to appropriate programs or services, while also providing comprehensive information about alternative resources available.

Generate detailed written reports based on client interviews and employer interactions, and correspond with employers and clients as required.

Additionally, compile and present reports on office activity as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) data associated with SIDES employer accounts.
• Undertake cross-training initiatives to familiarize oneself with KDOL reporting procedures, collaborating closely with Reporting Analysts to ensure comprehensive understanding of Unemployment Insurance (UI) reporting requirements.

Take charge of organizing and managing UI reporting processes and procedures with precision and efficiency.

Undertake any additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in fulfilling responsibilities to support the overarching objectives of the department.

Minimum Requirements :

High School Diploma or equivalency

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Knowledge and utilization of a PC to access computer files, record information, record statements, process determinations and answer inquires related to Unemployment Insurance.

Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements :

State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate. The successful applicant (even non-residents) must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website within 10 days of the date the applicant has been offered the employment position.

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws.
