The Idaho State Tax Commission is recruiting for a Tax Automated System Specialist within the Audit Division. If you are motivated and self-driven with a strong project management background than this role may be for you! We are looking for individuals that have experience being a liaison between end users of a database and the developers of a database that will perform the configurations.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret laws, rules, and policies for system impact.
  • Serve as the liaison between system users, management, and development staff.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and coordinate activities Identify and recommend automated system enhancements, modifications, and implementation methods, procedures, and time frames.
  • Serve on the Rules Committee and coordinate related activities. Maintain documentation of system functions including data elements, test results, reporting requirements, and output.
  • Plan and conduct training. Develop detailed test criteria and conduct/oversee system testing.
  • Review processing errors to evaluate and/or develop specifications for implementation of changes in system data.
  • Write requirements documents, procedures, project plans, and process maps
  • Give presentations about recommended projects or project/process status

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of computerized applications development processes and procedures (Successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of coursework related to completer applications, introduction to MIS, System analysis and design OR an associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology AND at least 6 months of work experience that included analyzing, planning, documenting, implementing, and developing large software applications as an individual or part of a team OR at least 1 year of full-time work experience that including testing automated systems in addition to development of functional requirements)
  • At least 1 year of experience interpreting and applying state and/or federal, or other related tax laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • At least 1 year of work experience testing automated systems to determine if user needs and legal requirements are met.
  • At least 1 year of work experience planning, coordinating and implementing projects At least 1 year of work experience that included providing technical assistance to automated system users
