EXAMPLE OF DUTIESResponsibilitiesAs an Office Specialist 2, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the various program areas within Farragut State Park. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing comprehensive office support and secretarial functions with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Applying existing policies and procedures with independent judgment to complete assignments across multiple program areas.
  • Responding to both routine and non-routine inquiries from visitors and stakeholders, offering clear explanations of department services, policies, procedures, and the rationale behind decisions.
  • Maintaining records, reviewing documents for compliance, and correcting errors or omissions as needed.
  • Scheduling appointments, coordinating services, and arranging meetings and travel itineraries as required.
  • Supervising staff or providing leadwork responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsPlease submit a resume and/or cover letter that reflects the following qualifications:Good Knowledge Of
  • rules of effective business English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Experience
  • using alphabetical, numerical, or subject filing systems to include determining file names, setting up new files, classifying, labeling, filing, and retrieving;
  • reviewing documents for compliance with established procedures;
  • using a computer to enter and retrieve information;
  • answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION SPECIALTIESExperience: operating word processing equipment and software; using spreadsheet software; using database software; making change and cashiering; using basic math skills; using Microsoft Word to create mass mailings and documents using columns and tables; using Microsoft Excel to create formulas and employing build-in calculation functions to perform complex financial, statistical or analytical calculations.
