IT Operations Analyst – 1st Shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)

Open for Recruitment: March 14th, 2024 - March 31, 2024

Salary Range: $19.00 - $23.00, based on experience and qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To coordinate operational resources with the data processing schedule through the use of production scheduling tools/techniques. To perform functions associated with an IT help desk. To operate and monitor computer equipment and peripheral devices.

Job Functions:

  • Monitor/queue input/output control processes; verifies completeness and accuracy of interfaces/job streams and reports ensuring production schedules are met and problems are escalated in a timely fashion
  • Identify computer processing problems and steps required to solve problems/restarts
  • Assists customers with problem resolution and questions arising from job processing
  • Develops production schedules and modifies schedules when required
  • Reviews production procedures to ensure compliance to production scheduling requirements
  • Collaborate with various IT teams; consider incident impacts and notify the appropriate parties
  • Monitor help desk incidents/requests and collaborate with customers and internal/external support teams for resolution
  • Troubleshoot and correct customer sign on problems
  • Create and maintain technical training documentation for IT Systems Operators and IT Production Specialists
  • Maintain and distribute a schedule of computer events that reflect requests from the customer community or planned system upgrades
  • Operates and monitors various IT stacks, network activity and supporting hardware equipment
  • Performs scheduled testing to verify systems are stable
  • Schedules data center hardware preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and assists in gathering data to determine cause of system interruptions
  • Enforces physical security of SCO and it’s datacenter

Additional Functions:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Contributes to the positive performance of the Operations team, computer services division and the office
  • Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance (critical to this position)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining production schedules and meeting pre-defined deadlines
  • Provide aid to customers and convey information to technical staff
  • Reading and comprehending technical material
  • Experience documenting operational problems and some knowledge of computer systems (Mainframe and Open Systems)
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of steps involved in computer operations workflow
  • Ability to interpret technical materials and adhere to documented processes/procedures
  • Strong organization, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Sensitive to confidential information and privacy while providing customer service
  • Strong sense of customer service and professionalism, even in a sometimes-stressful environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines while being interrupted and to adapt to constantly changing situations
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks individually, as well as work cooperatively as a team to complete tasks
  • Perform job duties in a consistent, thorough and accurate manner
