Central District Health (CDH) is currently recruiting for a motivated individual to join our dedicated group of public health professionals to serve as our Community Health Strategist with the Western Idaho Community Health Collaborative. The position will be responsible for developing, leading, and facilitating the collaborative and related subgroups. The selected candidate will research and develop strategies for community health improvement, strengthen the public health infrastructure, and develop strategic partnerships across sectors and jurisdictions. The selected candidate has the option of being based in our Boise office or in Southwest District Health’s office located in Caldwell.

Typical Duties:

  • Collaborate, plan, organize, and implement health strategies with community partners;
  • Engage Stakeholders and community partners;
  • Track and evaluate health data;
  • Develop and present reports;
  • Manage a budget consisting of public and private funds;
  • Manage contracts and subgrants;
  • Work with grant writers to identify funding sources;
  • Assess emerging health needs to improve community health;
  • Excel in relationship building;
  • Be curious and adaptable;
  • Exhibit knowledge in all areas of public health;
  • Know and understand regional equity such as urban versus rural;
  • The ability to interface and work with a variety of communities throughout the region;
  • Communication and facilitation skills;
  • Capture action items and ensure follow up activities occur;
  • Manage multiple projects with internal and external partners effectively;
  • Ensure motivation and engagement of stakeholders and community partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge of:

  • Health care and/or human service systems.

Experience:

  • Researching, planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating a health care and/or human service related program;
  • Analyzing cost effectiveness of health care/human services delivery;
  • Interpreting and applying laws and regulations.
