State of Georgia is Hiring a Health Service Technician - Gracewood Campus [2nd Shift] Near Augusta, GA

East Central Regional Hospital (ECRH) has two campuses: Gracewood, established in 1921; and Augusta, established in 1969. On July 1, 2003, these two previously sepa- rate facilities officially consolidated and became ECRH. The facilities serve DBHDD’s 33-county East Central Region (Region 2). The 420-acre Gracewood campus provides services for people living with the developmental disabilities in both an ICF/IID and a skilled nursing facility setting. The 310-acre Augusta campus provides mental health and forensic services. Each campus includes living areas, activity areas, administrative buildings and support buildings.
  • Under direct supervision, learns to provide basic patient care and works with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. May take vital signs. Answers clients' call signals.
  • Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse.
  • Bathes, grooms, shaves and dresses clients. Conducts activities for recreation and socialization. Ensures safety and security of clients.
  • Feeds clients who are unable to feed themselves. Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity. Prepares clients for treatment or examination. Provides client care by supplying and emptying bedpans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines.
  • Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed. Provides subprofessional occupational and/or physical therapy services to physically and/or developmentally disabled patients. Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Turns and re-positions bedridden clients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores. Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas
