State of Georgia is Hiring a Financial Aid Specialist Near Lawrenceville, GA

Employment Terms: This job is a full-time benefited FLSA Non-Exempt position in the Student Affairs Division that reports to the Financial Aid Coordinator.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience not to exceed $47,000/yr

Schedule:Monday – Thursday, 8:00a -6:30pm, Friday 8:00am-4:00pm occasional Saturdays and Evenings. Flexibility is a must.

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10514 Category 1) : Associate’s degree *and* Three (3) years of related work experience • Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with emphasis in business, education, or a related field *and* a minimum of one year of work experience in education, business or a related industry. (Related work experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.) Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with the BANNER Student Information System and/or two or more years of direct financial aid experience. Also, experience with federal regulations. Direct Loans and verification will be preferred

Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, provides information to prospective and enrolled students at a technical college concerning state and federal financial assistance. Coordinates the financial assistance programs available to enrolled students. Develops and maintains student financial aid records. Maintains current knowledge of student financial assistance programs and laws governing such. May supervise part-time staff or student employees.
