State of Georgia is Hiring an Adjunct Instructor - Dental Hygiene (HRLY) Near Atlanta, GA

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Dental Hygiene) position in the Health & Public Safety Technology department in the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Health & Public Safety Technology and the Dental Hygiene Program Coordinator, the Adjunct Dental Hygiene instructor provides instruction to students in the Dental Hygiene program. This is a part-time position, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Primarily responsible for teaching dental hygiene students head and neck anatomy didactic theory.
  • Clinical teaching.
  • Collaborates with the program faculty and staff regarding admissions policies, curriculum issues, learning techniques, clinical policies, remediation, and accreditation polices.
  • Versed in the Dental Hygiene field and maintains current knowledge in subject area, specialty Dental subjects, and technology.
  • Follows approved clinical curriculum standards and course syllabi.
  • Monitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to work with culturally and economically diverse backgrounds in a team spirited environment.
  • Attends meetings as required. Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
  • Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards.
  • Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with Dentrix, Dexis, intraoral camera, ultrasonic technology, hygiene instrumentation techniques, and OSHA sterilization protocols.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge, judgment, awareness, understanding, memory, and the ability to process information in a clear and effective manner.
  • Have positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and well- developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Google Documents and Public Speaking.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of paid work experience in the Dental field.
  • Licensed registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Ga.
  • Teaching and clinical experience.
  • CPR Certified.
