Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a Health Support Tech position with the Department of Health in Okeechobee County. This position works collaboratively with clinic Nursing Supervisor, coordinating activities, aiding and back-up as appropriate and
ensuring overall effectiveness of clinic and community services. The incumbent in this position must be self-motivated and work with under the RN supervision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate a computer; perform health screenings with appropriate testing equipment; Skill in interpersonal relationships. Adheres to state statutes, rules and regulations, practices, and procedures as they pertain to
each of the program’s functional areas. Navigates the internet, uses office and necessary systems/software and standard office equipment, and supplies related to position. Taking blood pressure readings, interviewing patients and
able to obtain a complete medical history. Ability to independently manage multiple work assignments per applicable State of Florida and DOH rules, regulations, and procedures with minimal supervision. Takes direction; accepts
constructive criticism and respond and implements suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:
Willing and able to perform emergency duties. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to
threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Have a Certified Nursing Assistance license
Currently Certified CPR & First Aid
Have previous experience as a Health Support Tech/ CNA
