Operations Analyst I - 70026599

This advertisement is for a Career Services position located at Central Office (Tallahassee, FL) in the Office of Administration

Salary: $32,760.00 annually

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts the daily transport of Central Office mail/packages to and from USPS offices, Central Office facilities, and outside agencies; assists with the daily operation of the mailroom by receiving, sorting, opening, and distributing all incoming mail/packages.
  • Coordinates the scheduling and completion of work orders for all Central Office program areas by the Central Office inmate work squad; independently communicates courteously and effectively with all affected parties of inmate work squad projects and advises management of the scheduling and execution of large-scale, multi-program area projects.
  • Completes the submission of work orders and janitorial requests to Central Office facility management locations and ensures completion of the work order or janitorial requests; escalates the report of potentially hazardous environments to management; analyzes submitted data for trending issues for escalation to management and building lessors.
  • Completes large volume and copy and print requests from Department program areas in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the maintenance of multi-function printers and copiers at Central Office; ensures the receipt, delivery, and installation of toners, waste toner boxes, and other supplies in Central Office devices; coordinates the dispatch of the contracted vendor for servicing or repair of Central Office devices.
  • Assists with Central Office fleet issues as needed or requested by the Fleet Management Office.
  • Completes other special projects or assignments as directed by management within the Office of Administration.
  • Designs, evaluates, recommends, and approves changes based on need and analysis.
  • Plans and conducts studies of problems and procedures.
  • Gathers and organizes information on problems or procedures.
  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Documents findings of study and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s):

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to comprehend and learn new job tasks with minimal instructions.
  • Ability to provide a professional work product and meet defined deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to communicate information effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of the methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of (3) years of experience in operational logistics to include planning, sourcing, and execution complex projects.
  • Must have a minimum of (3) years of experience in operating Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In possession of a valid Driver License
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs. on a regular basis.
