POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Division of Information Technology Services. This position will serve as a “Cloud Infrastructure Administrator” responsible for coordinating planning, implementation, and monitoring of FDLE’s Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud solutions, including core platform services related to compute, security, storage, and networking. In this role, the Administrator will help define what needs to be done to implement Azure and Office 365 cloud solutions with security, scalability, and compliance in mind. The Cloud Administrator reports to the Bureau of Production System Services and works closely with other members of the Division of IT Services and business units to meet technical and business needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Serving as the lead coordinator in the Office of IT Services and primary contact for Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud services;
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of FDLE’s cloud services strategy;
  • Identifying business needs related to FDLE’s goals and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitating the successful implementation of cloud services to meet business needs; 
  • Collaborating with IT staff, business units, and cloud service providers to develop programs and projects that enable FDLE to meet its goals and strategic objectives through the use of cloud services;
  • Ensuring critical data is backed up and can be efficiently restored when needed;
  • Creating solution designs that span other areas of the Microsoft ecosystem;
  • Monitoring Azure and Office 365 cloud services for performance issues and stability concerns. Review and audit users and hosting accounts. Work with ITS staff on a daily basis to support customers and ensure maximum uptime; and
  • Preparing recommendations for policies and standard practices associated with cloud services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Education and/or experience in information technology domain;
  • Education and/or experience with Microsoft Azure and 365 cloud computing services;
  • Education or experience with known project management methodologies;
  • Education or experience with known business analysis methodologies;
  • Strong oral communication, interview, investigative, collaboration skills;
  • Strong written communication and technical documentation skills;
  • Ability to gather, compile, organize and present data in a meaningful manner;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; and
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

BASE SALARY:

  • $62,000.00

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
