GENERAL SUMMARY
The Learning Designer is critical in the work of the Teaching Learning Center by overseeing online learning design; facilitating continuous improvement; improving, and organizing professional development opportunities for instructional technology. The Coordinator of Learning Design will serve as the primary partner with faculty who are converting face-to-face courses to blended or online modalities.
 
This position is grant funded.

 
PRIMARY DUTIES
Learning Design, Production, and Support 
• Project management of college-wide, collaborative development of online model course shells, learning objects, and faculty/instructor support resources. The Coordinator of Learning Design will also help facilitate program design.
• Online course design – in conjunction with subject matter experts and identified stakeholders, the Coordinator of Learning Design will work with faculty, instructors, and staff to create multimedia learning activities, video and audio lectures, and other engaging content. The Coordinator of Learning Design will assist in faculty, instructors, and staff in applying UDL principles. 
• Online course production – the Coordinator of Learning Design will manage the build process for new courses and learning experiences and attend to continuous improvement and technology innovations of assigned projects.
• Online Course Quality Assurance – the Coordinator of Learning Development will conduct quality assurance reviews on courses and facilitate continuous improvement process.
• Online Course support – the Coordinator of Learning Development will work with faculty, instructors, chairs, and the Lead Equity Researcher to analyze disaggregated course data and facilitate data-driven course revisions. 
 
Training and Support 
• Learning design across modalities, with focus on online, hybrid, hyflex, and web-enhanced delivery.
• Open Educational Resources
• Instructional technology, including but not limited to the Learning Management System (LMS), video production, web conferencing, and content authoring tools.
• Emerging learning design and learning technologies.
 
Instructional Technology Support 
• Serve as secondary LMS Admin
• Video Storage Platform Admin
• Creating training documentation for the LMS and instructional technology tools
• Facilitating the use of LTI and publisher materials.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Learning Design, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field.
 
Experience:
•Proven experience developing online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses.
•Proven experience with LMS and Video Storage platforms.
•Experience working with faculty to adopt, adapt, and create Open Educational Resource materials.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Conversant in UDL and accessibility standards.
•Familiarity with Quality Matters.
•Familiarity with instructional technology, including video creation and content authoring software (e.g. Camtasia, Articulate 360, Captivate, et cetera)
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
Experience:
• At least two year’s experience teaching within a community college setting, including experience with curriculum development.
• Experience managing a Video Storage Platform such as Kaltura, YuJa, Panopto, et cetera.
• Experience working within an economically challenged, urban college environment.
• Expertise in developing courses through a diversity, inclusion, and equity lensSELECTION PROCESS
