The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) ensures the delivery of a comprehensive, community-informed, data-driven, high-quality, and equitable early childhood system that supports the care, education and well-being of all Colorado's young children, their families and early childhood professionals in all settings. CDEC provides access to collaborative, coordinated, quality early childhood programs and support to children, families, and early care professionals in an effort to best prepare Coloradans for future success. CDEC works with many partners, including parents, schools, child care providers, Early Childhood Councils, counties, Community Centered Boards, early intervention service providers, family resources centers, county human services, county public health, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to provide high-quality early childhood and family support programs. The Communications Unit supports all internal and external CDEC communications, including managing email marketing, social media, media requests, strategic communications plans, digital communications, marketing, websites, and intranet, and manages multiple contracts related to office marketing and communications. It is also responsible for ensuring the department provides equitable and inclusive communication that reaches all early childhood stakeholders, regardless of location, situation, or language.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
What You'll be Doing: This position is in training to support the communication, marketing, and engagement for early childhood programs and resources with a variety of audiences and stakeholders, with a focus on equitable and inclusive communication. The Department delivers more than 25 programs and oversees systems grants across Colorado benefitting children and families. This role will ensure families, providers and partners are aware of the types of programs and services provided, eligibility of the program and how to enroll in these high-quality programs throughout the state. This position ensures accessibility of outreach to all families in Colorado and shares the various benefits of the programs utilizing multiple mediums. This may include creating press releases to be released to the media, responding to requests or public comments, discovering public opinion on clients through social media research and polling, evaluating and contributing to program efforts to ensure outreach and materials are correct as well as promoting the great work of Early Childhood. This role will also support sharing the story to families and partners of the success of systems grant efforts undertaken by the CDEC.
