EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES• Provides leadership to all on-campus educational programs to guide the curriculum development and implementation, instruction, student assessment, and program accountability;• Provides direct supervision to department Principals, Preschool Coordinator, Bridges to Life Coordinator, Program Assistant, and Data Systems/Website Administrator• Responsible for making determinations related to all positions under direct supervision including responsibility for hiring and performance evaluation; and• Fiscal responsibility for all funds allocated under their direction.JOB FUNCTIONS• Coordinate and monitor all curriculum projects including the curriculum project budget.• Maintain and share knowledge of current curricular trends and instructional practices addressing the needs of sensory impaired as well as students, in general.• Provide leadership to Principals to support teachers' efforts to implement the curriculum and incorporate State Standards in the delivery of instruction.• Research, coordinate and manage curriculum materials to include both print and online materials and provide leadership and training to Principals and other staff. • Serve as a resource for staff, parents, students, and districts by maintaining awareness of promising practices in the fields of special education (sensory disabilities) and providing current information on trends and practices identified through research.• Ensure students are identified for appropriate state and district assessments and collaborate with Principals to analyze student assessment data and identify / implement appropriate interventions.• Monitor student-based and other performance measures: collect and interpret data and prepare reports.• Coordinate assessments in collaboration with Principals to include state and district assessments, serve as the District Assessment Coordinator, and ensure required timelines, procedures, and policies for state assessments are adhered to.• Recruit, select, assign, supervise, evaluate, coordinate and recommend termination as necessary the work of assigned staff, including principals, teaching staff and other support staff consistent with school policies and procedures.• Provide leadership for and collaborate with Principals specific to the CSDB Educator Induction Program.• Provide leadership to Principals in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan, and Schoolwide Plan.• Serve as the main contact to ensure state reporting is completed to include Preschool OSEP Federal Reporting, READ Act, Kindergarten Readiness, Unified Improvement Plan, State Accreditation, and other appropriate reporting.• Serve as a member of the Superintendent's Council, working in cooperation with other administrators to plan, organize and implement services; facilitate and participate in regular team, departmental, school and administrative meetings as required; and support school reform efforts and implementation of the CSDB Strategic Plan.• • Serve on identified local and state committees.• Based on surveys and data, identify areas of professional development and develop a plan for professional development for staff.• Coordinates and monitors Professional Development in collaboration with the Human Resources office.• Participate in activities related to professional development and training / workshops as appropriate.• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
