Under the general guidance of the statewide Team Decision Making (TDM) manager, the TDM Supervisor leads a unit of TDM Facilitators that serve the mission of DCS by engaging families in decisions about the safety, stability, and permanency of a child at critical points in a case.
- Provides both individual and group supervision, observation, coaching and consultation to Team Decision Making (TDM) facilitators.
- Ensure Facilitators demonstrate fidelity to the TDM model;
- Foster skill building, professional growth and development of team members;
- Work with peer-supervisors to calibrate the TDM service delivery across units
- Attend and participate in section and statewide TDM program meetings.
- Serves as a representative of the TDM program at meetings and workgroups
- Manage Scheduling and delivery of TDM services to assigned offices
- Deliver training; ensure understanding of the TDM model, polices, procedures, and standards; conducts unit meetings;
- Track, monitor and share data related to unit outcomes and service delivery; communicate needed actions for improvement within the TDM program.
- Builds relationships with regional leader to understand the strength of the TDM service delivery within local offices.
- Drives on state business
- Performs other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge of:
- Federal and State laws/Statues pertaining to Child Welfare programs
- Contemporary concepts and practices in Child Welfare programs, including TDM, strength based and family centered practices.
- Safe AZ and the Protective Factors framework.
- Experience facilitating TDMs and/or Supervisory experience
Skill in:
- Verbal and written communication
- Applying the principles of safety science and supportive leadership
- Interpersonal skills including the ability to adhere to fidelity of the TDM model screening questions and protocols even when it means constructively challenging and disagreeing with colleagues.
- Workload management and distribution.
Ability to:
- Supervise a unit within an assigned area
- Travel statewide
- Be available after hours and weekend to support staff and assist TDM’s when needed outside standard business hours.
- Conduct individual and group supervision hat focus on competence, coaching and skill building
- Advocate for TDM fidelity in practice.
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in social work or closely related field from an accredited college or university AND
Three (3) years of DCS experience in protective services and TDM experience, DCS Program Specialist experience or DCS Program Supervisor experience.
Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment.
Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
Must be able to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the Guardian Central Registry.
