PG03B2 – Nurse Consultant 2Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.ANDAny combination of education, certification, and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies inTechnical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.Evidence-Based Practice: integrates best research practices with clinical expertise and patient values for optimum care and participates in learning and research activities to the extent feasible.Health Research: Knowledge of the evidence-based principles, strategies, methods, processes, and best practices used to identify and define health issues and develop relevant research, investigations, evaluations, assessments, reporting of results, and recommendations.Partnering: Develops networks and builds alliances; collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.Public Health: Applies knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, methods, and tools associated with protecting and improving the health of people and their communities, including promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing, and responding to infectious diseases. equivalent to those typically gained by: Post-secondary education in nursing, public health, healthcare services, healthcare administration, or a closely related field that includes either a bachelor's degree in nursing or Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing;ANDProgressively responsible professional nursing experience that includes responsibility in health care, public health, health care delivery systems, nursing administration, consultative nursing, and/or teaching capacity that is relevant to the position's area of nursing specialty. Special Note Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska and requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities, may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of licensure will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.Some positions require eligibility for specific professional certifications in a specialty field or licensure in the State of Alaska, such as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Most positions require expertise in a health specialty field; recruitment and selection for these positions will be from among only those candidates who have the appropriate specialty background and experience. The essential functions of some positions may involve exposure to infectious disease and/or biohazards.
