The position may be in Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Juneau, depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate. As a dedicated advocate for national health standards, you’ll ensure that the families we serve have access to top-tier preventive health screenings, examinations, and necessary service referrals, all aimed at nurturing their long-term health and prosperity.Your contributions will be key in shaping public health nursing policies, enhancing quality standards, and fostering educational growth. With a strong emphasis on independent research and teamwork, you’ll evaluate best practices and standards of care including the provisions of well-child preventative and Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) visits using the standards established by the American Academy of Pediatrics/Bright Futures, in addition to managing immunization programs. Special Note Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska and requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities, may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of licensure will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.Some positions require eligibility for specific professional certifications in a specialty field or licensure in the State of Alaska, such as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
