The Bethel Youth Facility is recruiting to fill two (2) On-Call Non-Permanent 

Juvenile Justice Counselor 1 positions.

What you will be doing:

Influence, inspire, and transform the lives of juvenile offenders and their families through therapeutic programs that incorporate the restorative justice approach to community protection, offender accountability, and competency development. You will build strong relationships with the youth we serve and use these relationships to deliver skills through groups such as anger management, drug and alcohol education, and life skills. As part of a treatment team, you will work with residents on their individual treatment needs while maintaining the focus of the Division’s Mission. You will ensure the security of residents, visitors, staff, and facility buildings during assigned shifts.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is located at the Bethel Youth Facility, 950 State Hwy in Bethel Alaska. You will cover shifts at various times of day, 8-hour shifts. The shifts will be on both the Treatment and Detention Units depending on the needs of the facility. The shift schedule is prepared monthly and many scheduling requests are done a month out, other shifts are needed with short notice. Escorts are a part of this position with various community work service and other outings, court, medical and release escorts.

Juvenile Justice Counselor 1:

A high school diploma or GED.AND
Must be 20 years of age or older.
