State Bank of India is Hiring an Assistant Branch Manager Support Near Los Angeles, CA

Summary:

Responsible for enuring excellent customer service standards and cross-selling techniques are applied consistently so the Bank’s clients and visitors learn about the Bank’s products and services. Works with VP Operations and AVP Operations to provide training on Bank policies and procedures. Assists with coaching, mentoring, and staffing. Conducts quality control reviews for Branches to ensure compliance with federal and Bank regulations/policies. Through guidance of VP Operations and AVP, Operations, ensures that branch operations areas managed are adequately staffed and that all personnel are trained. Makes recommendations on how to improve internal controls and efficiencies for branch operations. Plans and schedules activities within areas of responsibility and coordinates them with other operations areas as required. Works closely with Compliance to ensure that all deposit regualtions and laws are adhered to. Ensures Branch is adequately staffed and may be required to provide coverage on an adhoc basis. Research customer inquiries and ensure satisfactory resolution. Resolve technical and tactical issues related to account opening process, teller and customer service transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that operations activities at all the branches are handled accurately, timely and efficiently. Reports operational issues to management in a timely manner. • Provides consultative and consistent guidance to the branch employees on corrective action measures to be taken for differences, losses, attendance, punctuality, cash count discrepancies, etc. Assists with documentation and training operational corrective actions. Reports any losses or potential losses to the AVP (Operations) and VP (Operations) timely.
  • Provides overall operational guidance to branches on Cash Controls, Customer Deposit Accounts, Regulation CC and Regulation E. Answers internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Develops and conducts branch reviews on operational functions as scheduled. Oversees self-audits and follows-up to ensure branches are incompliance with various regulations. Reviews periodic operational reports and follows-up where appropriate. Prepares and finalizes reports for discussion with Branch Managers and AVP (Operations) and VP (Operations).
  • Ensures that operations staff and Branches are adequately trained in and can explain the features/benefits of the bank’s products and services to efficiently provide customer service and assists with any inquiries on Bank policies and procedures. Training includes but is not limited to: exception reports, wire reports, large item reports, remittances, online banking, deposit corrections/returns; levy subpoenas, dormant/inactive accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

AS Degree in Business or equivalent; 3 years of experience in retail or commercial bank operations management or retail/commercial bank branch operations support position, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Windows is required. Knowledge of core system; SWIFT; Wire Transfer; ACH; business new accounts.
