Starting Points Child Care is in search of two individuals to work with children ages 5 to 12 in our afterschool program and summer camp. This individual must have a minimum of a HS school diploma. Must have experience with school age children in a group setting. Must have good classroom management techniques. This is a group of 28 children. You would be working with the coordinator of the program.

Start Date: May

Hours : During the school year 2PM to 6PM. Summer hours vary according to field trips. This is a Monday through Friday position.

Responsibilities:

• The care and supervision of up to 28 school age children ages 5 to 12. (with another counselor)
• Plan and implement fun activities that are age appropriate.
• Keep accurate daily records.
• Communicate with parents on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will:

• Love children
• Have very very good classroom management techniques
• Have good communication skills and be flexible
• Have or get CPR/First Aid (Center will pay) We offer CPR/First Aid several times a year.

The Center is completely full so we do not have anymore room for staff children. Sorry.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
