To advance Start Early’s comprehensive policy agenda in Illinois, the Policy Analyst will conduct policy analysis, inform proposed policy solutions and related strategies, assist in developing plans of action for systems change, and promote organizational positions, both internally and externally.

Reporting to the Comprehensive Services Manager, as a Food Aide you will:

Manage the Educare Servery. The Food Aide is responsible for ensuring that practices and procedures adhere closely to guidelines, as set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the Federal Head Start Performance Standards. In addition, the Food Aide will oversee the service of breakfast, lunch, and supplements and will provide children with meals that meet recommended daily nutritional needs. Also, the Food Aide will verify food temperatures and quantity, accept and sign for food delivered by caterer daily

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and the City of Chicago Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate required.

• One year experience in a food service environment.

• Supervisory experience, preferred

• Ability to track and monitor food information.

• Ability to communicate effectively and function well with staff and parents.

• Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive team member.

• Must have good verbal and written skills.

• Must know the Illinois Food and Sanitation requirements and the State and City licensing standards.

• Must be familiar with Head Start Performance Standards.

• Effectively establish and maintain relationships with clients/colleagues and gain their trust and respect.

• Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.

• Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive team member.

• Ability and willingness to work in a program located in a low-income community.

• Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials.

• Ability to communicate and respond in a manner that consistently demonstrates respect and concern.

Starting Base Salary: $33K- $36K

We believe that all employees should be paid fairly and equitably. As of this posting, this is the expected base annual salary range. The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations
