PURPOSE -

• The Category Analyst is responsible for supporting departmental or category strategies through data collection with analysis that delivers solutions that drive profitable sales growth. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –

• Use syndicated and other data sources to identify category trends, issues and business opportunities and recommend solutions that benefit both StarKist and the CPG customer.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to link multiple data sources to form a story for the Sales Team and management.

• Provide insights through shopper and market trends.
• Create and update monthly sales and marketing dashboards/scorecards.

• Assist in:
  • Category reviews
  • Category Insights
  • Planogram/Shelving evaluation
  • New item plans
  • Internal analysis
  • Sales Support

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES - 

• BS degree in a related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with Nielsen Connect, Dunnhumby, 84.51, IRI Unify, Homescan, Panel and / or other similar applications
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Must understand consumer data metrics and how custom aggregations affect these metrics (Volume, ACV Distribution, Promotion Support, Pricing, etc.)
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with associates across a variety management levels.
