Job Description

A Cashier is an important member of our Star Nursery team. They must work well with others and maintain a positive and helpful demeanor while assisting our guests. Our Cashiers accurately and efficiently record the sale of merchandise for our customers and must be comfortable speaking with customers, handling money, scheduling deliveries, speaking on the phone and more.

• Ring up customers
• Keep front end clean and stocked
• Answer telephones
• Help stock merchandise
• Straighten and dust merchandise
• Check for consistent pricing
• Sweep floors as needed
• Pick up trash
• Face and restock shelves and end caps
• Other Duties as Assigned

Physical Aspects of the job

• Frequently bending, twisting and rotating trunk, arms and legs
• Standing 100% of the time/walking 99% of the time/climbing 10% of the time
• Working with arms extended and bent constantly
• Frequently moving parts and stock weighing up to 35 pounds, 10 to 50 feet
• Occasionally moving parts and stock weighing up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling

• Occasionally moving and stocking overhead shelves with parts weighing 5 to 15 pounds
