Star International Holdings is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Smithville, TN

Description

Star Holdings Group is currently seeking to add a Quality Technician to our rock star team. The Quality Technician is responsible for quality support within the manufacturing facility. This includes performing basic quality functions that support the improvement of the overall Quality Management System. 

Summary of Job Duties  

  • Participate in vendor and customer (internal / external) corrective actions for overall quality improvement.
  • Initiate and follow-up on Customer Complaints, Process and Vendor Corrective Actions to determine root cause and corrective action. 
  • Ensure test procedures are performed according to engineering requirements.
  • Perform gas test on units as required per agency guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to operators and ensure completeness of operator data. 
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to ensure quality procedures are followed.
  • Communicate quality related issues to team.
  • Maintain required quality records. 
  • Ensure quality issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist in training new employees regarding quality requirements.
  • Perform dimensional layouts on component parts, fixtures etc. as requested.
  • Conduct random inspections and testing of finished goods product to engineering specifications as warranted.
  • Support Rejected Material process by initiating and following-up on Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) issued internally and to vendors.
  • Perform First Piece Approval (FPA) inspections and measurement request as needed.
  • Coordinate Production Start Authorization (PSA) reviews for customer test units.
  • Create and distribute internal Quality Alerts.
  • Participate in Warranty Reduction improvement projects as required. 
  • Adhere to key policies and procedures as warranted by the business.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

Job Requirements  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 2 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Positive self-starting attitude with continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Familiar with corrective action process. 
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to assume new responsibilities and multi-task various projects.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with other departments, i.e., Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, etc. (verbally and in writing)
  • Strong trouble shooting / problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to use scales, squares, micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators, optical comparator and other measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read work orders, blue prints, wiring diagrams, bills of material, assembly instructions, etc. 
  • Ability to do basic math. 
  • Ability to accurately gather and report data.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred 

Associates degree and more than 2 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
