ABOUT STANFORD UNIVERSITY AND RESIDENTIAL & DINING ENTERPRISES:

Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing high-quality services to students and other members of the university community. The department has an annual operating budget of over $350M, operates 24/7/365, and oversees a $3B asset portfolio comprising a 7 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus. In autumn quarter of the 2021-22 academic year, R&DE will return to providing housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serving meals at 17 dining halls, 12 retail locations, and operating athletic concessions and conference operations. Additionally, R&DE comprises 900 FTE staff in the following divisions: Student Housing Operations, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries, Stanford Conferences, Maintenance Operations and Capital Projects, and a team of R&DE strategic business partners: Finance & Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications.

This role is designated as essential and requires incumbents to report to work onsite. Telecommuting is not available for this role.
R&DE Stanford Dining, Hospitality & Auxiliaries (SDHA), a division of Residential & Dining Enterprises, is a best-in-class dining and hospitality program serving over 25,000 meals a day by over 900 staff in over 100 locations, including 9 dining halls, 31 self-op row house dining, 7 co-op dining, 4 suite dining, 4 branded concepts, athletic dining, a kosher kitchen, late night dining at Lakeside, 8 cafes, 12 vendor partner programs, 1 commissary production kitchen, a pub, 3 markets, a sweet shop, 7 catering operations, Schwab Executive Dining, 5 athletic concession venues, and 2 teaching kitchens, SDHA also oversees the Stanford Food Institute, the Stanford Flavor Lab, the campus BeWell community gardens, the Stanford Food Pantry, and a staff training and development center.
JOB PURPOSE:

Work under general direction to manage all logistics associated with the delivery of learning and development programs and initiatives. Manage participant registration, correspondence, evaluation, budgets, and data analysis

CORE DUTIES*:
  • Run reports associated with established metrics. Report on emerging trends not specifically requested by program manager.
  • Update website content assuring the quality of postings and processes for multiple websites.
  • Identify vendors and administer the procurement and vendor contracting process. Work with the vendors to coordinate timely completion of contracts, submission of bills, and payment.
  • Draft marketing materials, emails, and other types of correspondence.
  • Schedule related logistics of trainings and programs. Negotiate cost and assure quality of materials, supplies, and end-to-end services. Maintain calendars for program managers and senior leadership.
  • Create, implement, and manage a process for registration.
  • Provide support and other back-up to other coordinators as necessary.
  • May serve as a presenter to participants on a limited basis.
  • Provide and coordinate delivery of operational training for bargaining unit staff contingent employees, supervisors, managers, and others. Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain all training and development manuals, presentations, and training aids associated with all SDHA training and development resources.
  • Coordinate the Stanford Dining Hospitality & Auxiliaries operational onboarding presentations with the SDHA Training and Development Manager for all levels of employees.
  • In partnership with the SDHA Training and Development Manager, collaborate and provide expertise and support for training and development programs. Help identify gaps in staff development and help staff develop within the organization.
  • Create, manage, and track metrics related to participation/completion of training sessions, tracking the delivery of unit-level training programs, and professional development. Participate in and champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
  • Knowledge of learning and development field.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to small and large groups in a complex and highly diverse workplace.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to research, extract, analyze, and manipulate data with minimal supervision and communicate results proactively.
  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask, shifting between multiple priorities and tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

  • None.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls.

The expected pay range for this position is $33.65 to $36.05 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
