Standefer Properties is a locally owned company with a variety of holdings. We’re a family owned company that keeps those family roots even as the business continues to grow. We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking handyman/general laborer that would report directly to ownership. We need someone who is not afraid of hard work. This position will be physically demanding, but will be full of variety. Almost no two days will be the same. Our properties vary from retail buildings to farmland to rental properties. There is an abundance of things to be done, and the list grows every day. We need someone who likes variety and is willing to do everything from cutting firewood to mowing to minor plumbing repairs to changing light bulbs to minor roof repairs. Expertise is not necessary and can be replaced with the desire to learn. In addition to this position reporting to ownership, you will sometimes be working alongside ownership and they can teach you anything you don’t know. We offer an employer who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and will not ask you to do something they wouldn’t and haven’t done. We’re specifically looking for a full-time staff handyman/laborer. With all of our holdings, there is never a lack of work to be done. The position would start out Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm with some Saturdays as needed. As you get settled into the position, the hours can become more flexible.

This position will require some travel. All of our holdings are within one hour of Chattanooga. Travel will mainly be in personal vehicle and will be compensated for. Necessary tools, equipment, and resources will be provided.

Drug screen and background check required.

Qualifications:

• MUST BE RELIABLE
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between locations
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Ability to drive a truck pulling a trailer
• Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely and effectively
• Ability to problem solve

Duties:

• General interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs
• Sink, toilet, other miscellaneous minor plumbing repairs
• Light bulb replacement and conversion to LED
• Repair/replace outlets, other miscellaneous minor electrical repairs
• Small mechanical repairs
• Diagnose problems and recommend plan of action to resolve
• Mowing and other general landscaping/maintenance
• Miscellaneous farmwork
