StandardAero is Hiring a Lab Technician Near Kansas, MO
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual, mechanical, and Chemical solution testing, and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
The Quality Lab Technician will be expected to work independently to do the following:
- Perform test procedures on various processing material, media, and chemical solutions in support of critical process control activities.
- Conduct coating sample preparation and verification in accordance PAS and various customer procedures.
- Perform various forms of mechanical and chemical testing including preparation of the samples and evaluation of the results. Prepare and evaluate weld qualification samples in support of personnel certification efforts.
- Support investigation of engineering projects by performance of various forms of destructive analysis.
- Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes..
- Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications.
- Must have strong communication skills, be able to read and interpret technical documentation (Lab Procedures, Specifications, etc.), and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be eligible to obtain a repairman certificate in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.
- Able to manage regular duties with little supervision
- Experience in a lab/testing facility is preferred.
- Able to work safely with critical testing equipment and potentially hazardous materials.
- Willing to work overtime on occasion.
- Some travel required for external training (less than 5%)
