SQL ETL Engineer (REMOTE)

We are seeking an experienced SQL ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Engineer proficient in developing and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced SQL ETL Engineer to contribute to our data integration efforts and play a key role in shaping our organization's data infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes utilizing SSIS to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business requirements, and load into destination databases/data warehouses.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration, performance bottlenecks, and data quality discrepancies.
• Optimize and tune existing ETL processes to improve performance, throughput, and data quality.
• Create and maintain documentation for ETL processes, including technical specifications, data mappings, and workflow diagrams.
• Implement best practices and standards for data integration, ensuring compliance with security and governance policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements, and translate them into efficient ETL workflows.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, plus Minimum of 7 years of solid experience working as an ETL Developer/Engineer with a strong focus on SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). 5 additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

• Proficiency in SQL programming and database concepts, with expertise in optimizing SQL queries and performance tuning.
• In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL design patterns.
• Experience working with various data sources such as relational databases, flat files, APIs, DTSX packages etc.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Experience working with SSIS packages in Azure and standalone environments.
• Familiarity with data quality, data governance, and security principles related to ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment and interact with stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working with government systems such as GFEBS, DEAMS and EDA
• Experience working on Azure cloud environment.

Must meet the requirements for a government issued security clearance (US citizenship is a requirement).

Corporate requirement for COVID vaccination or documented exception.
