Standard Power is Hiring a Remote Director of IT

Standard Power is seeking a hands-on, seasoned, and results-driven Director of IT to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure, security, and client and technical support for enterprise technology. This function will also lead several IT projects and will provide technical leadership to the IT team.

This role follows a hybrid work structure and is expected to report to our sites in Coshocton and Conesville, Ohio operating areas several times a week. This role reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Ensure the reliability, security and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure. Manage the IT budget, optimizing expenses and investments. Oversee the development and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, scalability, and reliability of our IT infrastructure and shared services supporting operations across datacenter/colocation facilities including servers, networks, redundant/HA capabilities, shared services, etc.
  • IT Security and Compliance: Develop and maintain robust IT security solutions, policies, and procedures to protect the company's data and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect company data and assets.
  • Business Applications: Support and optimize our Enterprise Applications, NetSuite, to develop related application solutions, and enhance data accuracy.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects, new data center design/deployment and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Client Service Management: Oversee the delivery of IT services to clients; ensuring high service quality, infrastructure support, and client satisfaction.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and industry best practices. Mentor and coach the IT team for professional growth. Stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate the applicability to business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage third-party services to ensure high-quality IT services.
  • IT Governance and Documentation: Create, deploy, and continually refine IT processes, change management, service delivery, and elevate IT team capabilities.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and motivate a talented IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives. Collaborate with other department heads to integrate IT with overall business planning.
  • Risk Management: Implement comprehensive risk management policies for IT operations. Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Director or in a similar leadership role, preferably in an MSP/Data Center/Colocation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security practices, solutions encompassing cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance.
  • 10 years of experience working with and/or managing IT Infrastructure, shared services, and Cyber Security.
  • 10 years of experience in IT management, including project delivery.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with developing, implementing, configuring, and testing enterprise systems and/or solutions.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor selection, negotiation, and management.
