We also have a state-of-the-art medical facility centrally located in Holladay, Utah where we have an amazing medical staff performing corrective procedures and cataract surgery. Job Description:

Standard Optical is Utah's number one Optometry/Ophthalmology practice seeking applicants for an Ophthalmic Technician in our Holladay Medical Center. Our technicians work with our eye doctors and surgeon to provide patient care by performing many different eye-related clinical functions. Ophthalmic technicians help care for patients by taking histories, performing various procedures and tests, and preparing patients to see the doctor. Their work in this professional environment provides the ophthalmologist with important information to help diagnose and treat our patients.

Skills/Abilities:

* Good communication skills

* Expectational patient interaction

* Attentive and self-directed

* Able to use related medical equipment, instruments, and computer applications

* Positive interpersonal skills and sensitivity

* Works great with a team

Responsibilities:

* Taking patient medical histories

* LASIK/Cataract assisting

* Instructing patients about medications, tests, and procedures

* Performing various vision and diagnostic test

* Assisting our ophthalmologist/optometrist with patient procedures

* Coordinating patient scheduling

* Clean and organize rooms and instruments

* Training

* Assist staff members as needed

* Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned

* Knowing how to refract. (Not required, we can teach you but it is a plus!)

Qualifications:

* High School graduate or equivalent

* LASIK Certification

* Knowledge of medical terminology

* Understanding of safety precautions and infection control procedures

* 1 year commitment required

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
