Standard Meter Lab is Hiring a Calibration Technician - Field Service Near Livermore, CA

It is exciting times within our company as we are currently experiencing a period of growth and restructure.

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician.

The technician will test, calibrate, and repair electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, pressure, torque, electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating calibration standards. Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment
  • Perform calibration events in the field as well as at our in-house lab
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects components for defects
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications, using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments
  • Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry
  • Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment
  • Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of with the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001: 2015 standard

Electrical trade/technical schooling; and 2 or more years hands on experience in calibration/metrology field or equivalent military training

Knowledge of High Voltage, Electrical, Torque, Pressure, Temperature and Mechanical Calibration preferred.

Excellent verbal and written skills

Ability to work on a team

Highly developed organizational and time management skills

Punctual and RELIABLE
