OVERVIEW: As a Field Service Pump Technician I with KSB USA, you will support the overall workload of the Field Service Group across Port Arthur, TX. The Field Services Team's main objective is to meet the needs and expectations of the customers by performing excellent field work including installing pumps, removing pumps, aligning pumps and motors using a laser alignment tool, troubleshooting operations issues, etc. To be successful in this role you will be comfortable working on a services team, have strong experience with pump repairs while also being comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and be able to communicate with a detailed analytical approach. This position reports to the Field Service Lead. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform field work including but not limited to installing pumps, removing pumps, aligning pumps and motors including using a laser alignment tool, troubleshooting operations issues, etc Reads and works from prints, process sheets, written and verbal instructions Familiar with utilizing gauges, calipers and micrometers to measure work Ability to follow and support company policies to protect the customer's assets associated with the operation Have the ability to work with minimum supervision Continuous standing and lifting of 5 to 60 pounds Essential Duties are the ability to follow routine procedures, utilize basic hand tools daily, provide details and complete inspection reports thoroughly, autonomous decision making for minor situations Skilled in disassembling, repairing, reassembling and testing recondition components Familiar with following work orders and customer specifications with attention to quality and details routinely Comprehension of Standard Alloys safety standards and guidelines QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma/GED and/or Equivalent work experience AND 10 years of working experience in centrifugal pump repair shop is required Detailed Oriented Approach to daily work An ability to manage multiple projects at the same time Approach daily work with an analytical approach COMPETENCIES: Time management – Managing one’s own time by being able to identify perceived barriers to our ability to meet the customer’s timeline Communication skills – talking to others to convey information clearly and effectively Collaboration – team-oriented approach to knowledge sharing Active Learning – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making Social Perceptiveness – Being aware of other’s reactions and interpretation of an appropriate response Deductive Reasoning – The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers Computer skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat as a minimum. Manufacturing knowledge – Pump repair experience required. Pump repair and Field Service operations are preferred. Quality Assurance System – knowledge of ISO-9001:2008 and ability to train others on company procedures. Centrifugal Pumps – API-610, good knowledge of part types, use and manufacturing processes required to produce components. Part and Pump Drawings – capable of reading and interpreting engineered drawings. TRAVEL: This role requires travel to and from our customer's locations up to 75% of the time.
