Job Title: Employment Specialist

Location: Lynchburg, VA and surrounding areas

Position Type: Evenings and Weekend hours

Specifically looking for Monday - 10am - 8pm; Tuesday - 4:30p - 9pm; Thursday - 4:30pm - 9pm; Friday - 4:30pm - 9pm, Saturday - 11am - 9pm.

Job Description: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities? Join our team as an Employment Specialist and play a vital role in helping individuals thrive in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in looking and applying for jobs that meet their strengths, goals, interests, and needs.
  • Prepare for and attend interviews with your customer.
  • Assist your customer at their job sites by providing prompts, feedback, and support to help them succeed.
  • Network with employers in the community and advocate about the services available through supported employment.
  • Transport customers to and from job sites as needed (valid Virginia driver license required).
  • Collaborate with employers to ensure a supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide ongoing guidance and coaching.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and communication.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Background check.
  • Fingerprinting as required by state regulations.
  • Valid Virginia driver license.
  • Compassion and dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work daytime hours:
  • Flexible daytime hours in order to meet with customers and/or potential employers (job searching, attending interviews, interview preparation, driving preparation).
