ROLL FORMING OPERATIONS LEADER

Position Description

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-exempt

Position Status: Full-Time

Summary of Position Functions

The Roll Forming Operations Leader will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Roll Forming Technicians to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the cost, quality and delivery of our products. This position is a working team leadership role that is intended to grow into a management role as the company grows and the individual develops.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accountable for maintaining and improving operating and reporting procedures that keep our employees safe and our company compliant with HSE regulations.
  • Oversees the execution of the production schedule, including supervising tooling changes, applying/adjusting the necessary human and machine resources, and reporting productivity metrics.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting that keeps the production and support equipment functioning as needed to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Steps in to support operations as needed, particularly when Roll Forming Technicians are absent.
  • Trains Roll Forming Technicians in basic roll form operations and support functions.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains Standard Operating Procedures that support company goals for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced understanding of hydraulics, machine controls, PLC/Ladder Logic, and metal fabrication
  • Ability to apply fundamental CAD/CAM skills to convert design drawings to manufacturing prints and associated tolerances
  • Trained and experienced in problem solving using common manufacturing methods such as Root Cause & Corrective Action, Is/Is Not Analysis, etc.

Education And Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field. High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Documented training in CAD/CAM, PLC’s, and maintenance of fabricating equipment preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
