Stainless Steel Midwest has an immediate opening for an experienced forklift driver / materials handler to assist in efficiently loading and unloading metal into dump trucks.

Responsibilities:

• Adherence with company safety and environmental standards
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment
• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload material into trucks or bins
• Other yard duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior experience loading and unloading trucks
• Ability to do basic math calculations
• Ability to clearly communicate in English or Spanish
• At least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements to Perform Job Functions:

• Good vision
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, hear audible warning signals, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Operating and moving various equipment may require dexterity to push, pull, climb, bend, twist, turn, reach, etc.
• Personal protective equipment is required (and provided) given multiple hazards typical of scrap yards
• Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform duties
• Subject to the environmental conditions of working mainly outside
