Web Application Architect (SOA, .NET, SQL, Azure) (Remote, Northeast)

We are currently recruiting a Web Application Architect for our client, a Commonwealth PA entity. The focus of this role is to lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative web applications leveraging the power of .NET, SQL technologies, and the Azure cloud platform and to shape technical strategies to deliver scalable, secure, and performant solutions that drive the business forward.

This contract position is long-term with funding approved until 02/14/2025. Further extensions are likely, and funding is approved every 12 months, 37.5 hours per week role. This position is remote supporting our client's offices located in Harrisburg PA. The candidate should reside within a 2-hour commute of the offices in Harrisburg, PA.

The final interview will be in person at the client's office in Harrisburg, PA. The chosen candidate will need to report onsite for equipment pick-up.

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement scalable cloud-based web application architectures utilizing Azure services (App Services, Storage, Azure SQL, Functions, Blob, Tables, Queues, Web Apps, API Apps, Serverless compute, etc.

• Architect robust data solutions, ensuring optimal integration between .NET applications and SQL databases.

• Champion security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, protecting application and data integrity.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, development teams, and stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

• Mentor and guide other developers, driving the adoption of architectural standards and design patterns.

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and cloud trends to continuously enhance our solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of hands-on experience in SOA, software architecture, and development experience, with a strong emphasis on .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET MVC/Web API).

• Must have experience designing and implementing scalable cloud-based web application architectures utilizing Azure services (App Services, Storage, Functions, Azure SQL, etc.) and experience in architecting and scaling web applications within the Azure ecosystem.

• Experience in the application of relevant design patterns within the .NET/Azure ecosystem (MVC, MVVM, Repository, dependency injection, etc.).

• Experience in database design, query optimization, and performance tuning within SQL environments.

• Experience leading and mentoring development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM templates).

• Experience in designing modular, scalable & secure web app architectures. Includes consideration of microservices, SOA & containerization if applicable

• Experience in modern frontend technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js)

• Experience with and knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and Kanban

Compensation: $70/h-$78/h
