SCOPE OF POSITION

Business Intelligence (BI) Database Developer is responsible for researching, designing, building, implementing and supporting BI solutions for the organization. In this role, you will perform data modeling, data analysis, reporting and database development (ETL focused) in support of the BI projects, perform new development, maintain and enhance existing applications and work through the project life cycle methodology across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will possess understanding and experience in all stages of BI development project work to include requirements, technical design, implementation, testing and deployment, as well as have a firm grasp on implementation methodologies and in-depth experience with the SQL, MySQL, and Snowflake (SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis and Communication

· Utilize data gathering, research and analytical abilities to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs

· Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations

· Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing the execution of testing (Unit and UAT)

· Regularly communicate project process, issues and risks to team leader or project manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in computer science, mathematics or engineering

· 5 years’ experience business intelligence development experience

· 5 years’ experience database design or integration experience with Snowflake

· Ability to work with and lead others in a matrix management environment

· Excellent organizational skills, focus and attention to detail a must

· Strong communication (written, interpersonal, presentation) skills

· Ability to conscientiously manage and follow up on multiple, concurrent tasks, request and projects on tight deadlines

· Strong process analysis and design skills

Technical Skills

· Relational database and SQL language

· Extraction transformation and loading (ETL) using SSIS

· Data warehouse and solution design

· Dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology preferred)

· Analytics / OLAP cube development using SSAS and MDX

· Understanding and working with Hierarchical data types

· AWS knowledge working in RDS EC2 Environments with S3 storage is a plus
