Requirements:
• Must be U.S. Citizen.
• Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or another formal program.
• Experience: At least one year of full-time experience in the last three years as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting.
Duties:
• Prepare examination rooms before the patient's arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Check the patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
• Obtain and document the patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions per clinic policies.
• Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when the patient is released.
Start date:
• As soon as possible pending Federal Security Clearance process completion (typically 4-6 weeks after initiation)
Schedule:
Services shall be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1700 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 to 9-hour period, including an uncompensated 30 to 60-minute lunch break, respectively. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.
Ability to commute:
• Reliably transportation is required and expected for commuting to and from the work site.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in the last three years as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting.
License(s) / Certification(s):
Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or another formal program.
