Junior Accounting Manager

Our client is an industry leader in the construction industry! They are looking for a Junior Accounting Manager to join their Accounting team. The Junior Accounting Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the Accounting functions of the Company including internal and external financial reporting requirements, preparation of financial results, maintenance of internal controls and the Company’s accounting requirements. This individual will also manage all efforts to ensure the appropriate internal controls are in place and takes the lead role in attaining and maintaining compliance with GAAP and best practices.

Core Responsibilities of the Junior Accounting Manager:

• Establish and manage accounting functions, such as the general ledger.

• Responsible for the monthly financial close process to include consolidated statements,

subsidiaries, including balance sheet, income statements, statement of cash flows.

• Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting, including journal entries.

• Prepare and interpret financial statements, reconciling all accounts to the general ledger.

• Responsible for preparation and management of year-end outside audit and periodic bank examinations.

• Track daily and monthly bank financing reporting, including updating daily collateral report, completing monthly ineligible report, submit monthly financials with compliance certificates.

• Calculate and pay sales taxes on required frequency to meet filing deadlines.

• Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of the Accounting team.

• Ad-hoc analysis as required by management for decision making, primarily using Excel.

• Assist other departments in developing reports that will assist in collecting and using data in an efficient matter.

• Demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Preferred Qualifications of the Junior Accounting Manager:

• BS in Accounting or Finance required, CPA highly desirable.

• A minimum of 3 years of related experience.

• Construction industry and/or project accounting experience highly desired.

• Experience with MS Navision ERP desired but not required.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office highly desired.

• Ability to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make

recommendations.

• Business acumen and ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
