Position Overview: As a Purchasing Agent at [Company Name], you will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials essential to our manufacturing processes. Your expertise in supply chain management and vendor relations will be instrumental in optimizing our purchasing practices, minimizing costs, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in our CNC shop.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet production requirements and minimize supply chain risks.
• Source and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers/vendors to achieve cost savings and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Generate purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely processing of orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to identify material requirements and address supply chain issues.
• Maintain supplier/vendor relationships through regular communication, performance evaluation, and resolution of issues or disputes.
• Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in procurement practices.

Qualifications:

• Syteline Experience Required
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer, preferably in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and inventory control.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers/vendors.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams and external partners.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Certification in purchasing or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
