Staffed4U is Hiring a Logistics Planner- CNC Environment Near Kent, MI

Our client is a leading CNC machining shop dedicated to precision manufacturing. Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure efficient flow of materials and products.
  2. Plan and schedule shipments, considering factors such as production schedules, inventory levels, and customer demand.
  3. Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistics issues.
  4. Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining service levels.
  5. Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and transportation activities.
  6. Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards governing transportation and logistics operations.
  8. Implement strategies to minimize risks related to transportation delays, damages, and disruptions.
  9. Work closely with production and procurement teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, developments, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (2-3 years) in logistics, planning, and purchasing preferably in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment.
  3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  8. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to transportation and logistics.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate challenges effectively.
  10. Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
